Folderlan is a self-hosted file-sharing platform. One server, any device with a browser. You don't need internet on your LAN, third-party cloud storage, or a subscription — your files stay on your own hardware. Releases.
What does it solve?
Forget about limitations. Share files instantly, directly between devices on the same Wi-Fi network, without internet, Bluetooth, or cables. It can also be deployed as a private cloud on a VPS, acting as your own minimalist "Google Drive."
Key Features
- Streaming uploads — large files are streamed directly to disk with live progress, pause, and resume support.
- Users & roles — one owner with full control and unlimited visitors with configurable permissions (upload, delete own files, storage quotas).
- Granular sharing — grant
viewerorcollaboratoraccess on specific files to specific users. - Public/Private visibility — per-file, toggleable with a single click.
- File System Watcher — detects files added or removed in the
uploads/folder in real-time and registers them automatically. - Full audit log — every action is logged with timestamp, user, IP, and event type.
- JWT authentication + Argon2 password hashing.
- Single binary — server + API + embedded web UI; nothing else to install.
- 4 languages — English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese.
- Light & Dark themes with system preference detection.
